Yes I had a sugar free week.
I will give you the play by play shortly.
I have been thinking and discussing (thanks to @doctors_cave ) the effects of sugar and what it does to our body and the more I dig and have insightful conversations...the more I can test and share with all of you ✨
Most of us know sugar has negative effects on our bodies. So why do we keep eating it? Because it's in foods we have become accustomed to enjoying and alot of times… at comforting times. There is a whole behavioural component to why we eat things that are not NOURISHING our bodies but I am just discussing the negative effects here. I did find this online and think it's appropriate to share:
“Change the formula to get a different result”. It actually is this easy. Continue to ingest inflammatory foods and continue to feel the way you do. Remove inflammatory foods and … you will decrease inflammation and naturally feel better 🌈
Sugar has negative effects on the body and to prove this… it contributes to the following:
-weight gain
-inflammation✨
-diabetes
-high blood pressure
-increased risk of cancer & heart disease
I am almost certain the list goes on.
Let's look at a snapshot of how I felt during my sugar-free week.
Day 1: In my head I kept thinking of sugar but resisted 💪🏻
Day 2: All day headache. This is the start of detoxing and Tylenol did not help.(P.S- we shouldn't have to detox from our food)
Day 3: Headache. Feeling faint, weak...but able to function.
Day 4: THIS GIRL IS ON FIRE! I had so much energy that I did not even need that 2nd cup of coffee in the morning! My body was working better and my thoughts were clearer.
Day 5: I was still energetic and my body felt like a new machine!
If we look at my week we see DETOX. We shouldn't detox from foods that are supposed to fuel us and keep us well. We detox from toxicity not fruit and vegetables or chicken. Right?
Then the long weekend happened 😟 but that's ok because I didn't over indulge. Because last week I felt so good I am going to continue this week!

Start now! Its ok if you already had sugar. Begin now. Read labels. You will pick up a product that says 100% Natural or plain or or or … READ THE LABEL. I know you will find something you are shocked by and please let me know what you find. I found a guacamole with SUGAR in the ingredients. This is supposed to be our superfood… with a dash of 'will make you sick later'.
Eliminating refined sugar helps you feel more energetic, sleep better, think clearer and will have you wanting to do something good for your entire being? This is especially for the inflammation in the IBD/autoimmune bodies.
